Hello!
This is my fifteenth year teaching and my fifth year here at East Wake Academy and I absolutely love it! I am blessed to be a part of EWA's community of students, parents, staff, and administration. I am extremely excited about the 2018-2019 year and I hope you all are too!
I was born and raised in Spring Hope, North Carolina and continue to live there with my husband Brent and daughters Ainsley and Caroline. My oldest daughter, Ainsley will be 6 in October and my youngest, Caroline will be 4 also in October. Ainsley has just started her first year at EWA in Kindergarten and she couldn't be more excited! Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends just relaxing and enjoying life.
I graduated from East Carolina University in 2004 with a degree in Elementary Education and a concentration in Child Studies. Later, in 2011, I received my Master's in Elementary Education from Barton College.
Over my last fifteen years of teaching, I have discovered many things about myself, my classroom, and my teaching styles. Trial and error have played a big part in this. I am always searching for new ideas and more creative ways to help my students learn. I continue to have a passion and desire for ensuring the needs of all my students are met and that they are able to learn, grow and succeed in the 21st century. I look forward to getting to know you and working together to ensure your child has an exciting and successful year in 2nd grade!
